Another CR platform appearing in the literature is the Common Cognitive Radio Platform (CCRP) platform. It has been introduced by the Cognitive Networking Alliance (CogNeA) [1], an open industry association that intends to
commercialise low power personal/portable Cognitive Radio platforms. This is achieved by enabling and promoting the rapid adoption, regulation, standardisation and multivendor compliance and interoperability of CRs worldwide.
The alliance is consisted of ETRI, HP, Philips, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Texas Instruments, and BT. CogNeA has been developing specifications for the Common Cognitive Radio Platform (CCRP) which supports multiple applications [27] which intends to bring the standard to an internationalStatus. Common Cognitive Radio Platform is consisted of the Physical Layer (PHY) and the Media Access Layer (MAC). The PHY consists of the Radio Front End, the Baseband. The Cognitive Entity contains a geo-location block, a sensing block and an Internet access and interference map resources. Then the MAC carries the Communication/Networking protocol, Air access rules, and interface for the higher layers, such as network and application layers.
